Nice to Meet You

A self portrait is used often to convey deeper understanding of the artist, not just they way they look outwardly, but how they view themselves. In this self portrait I used three words I would use to describe myself as inspiration for the images that make up the background. Tinting those images with cyan, magenta and yellow allows the images to be overlayed, creating interesting color play while the images are still clearly identifiable. I created this 12 x 18 inch self-portrait, hoping to visual communicate who I am.

Used: digital photography, over-printing and digital printing.
When the paper is folded, these two panels make up the back and front covers. The three words that appear on the front are the three words I thought not only described my personality best but also the images used in my overlay and the image I chose for my metaphor photo.
The grayscale image on the reverse side used Moroccan tree goats as a metaphor for me and my three descriptors. "I got you." Is a phrase I say often when anyone is asking something from me. I thought this phrase worked well with the overall theme.
The images I used in this overlay only consist of three colors: Cyan, Yellow & Magenta. Using those colors I overlayed the images allowing the viewer to see multiple images at once. These photos show me enjoying some of my favorite hobbies: hiking, running and staring into the sun.
